Nature of Reiki and complementary therapies

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, provide medical treatment, or interfere with the care of licensed medical professionals. Reiki is intended to complement, not replace, traditional medical care. It is recommended that you consult a licensed physician or healthcare professional for any physical or psychological concerns.

All services provided by Courtyard Natural Healing — including crystal-infused Reiki, sound-infused Reiki, sound bath meditation, and ThetaHealing® — are complementary wellbeing practices and are not medical treatments. Practitioners do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or provide medical or psychological intervention.

Self-healing and the healing process

The body possesses remarkable self-healing abilities, and deep relaxation can significantly support this process. Chronic long-term imbalances may require multiple sessions in order to achieve the optimal level of relaxation necessary for healing.

There are many factors which will influence the success of your healing session. Whilst benefits are typically observed in the majority of cases, there can be no guarantees of success or cure in relation to a condition or its treatment. During the healing process, you may or may not experience temporary discomfort and feel out of sorts as your body adjusts and rebalances. This is often a normal part of the process and tends to improve with continued sessions.

If there are ongoing personal or work-related issues which continue to give you stress and anxiety, Reiki or other complementary therapies can offer deep relaxation. However, addressing these underlying factors may be necessary in order to achieve your desired outcomes and also for your optimal wellbeing and long-term benefits.

Your role in the healing journey

Healing is a partnership. While I hold the space, set the intention, and offer the treatment with care, the journey itself is yours — true and lasting change comes from your own willingness to receive, reflect, and act on what arises. I encourage you to stay open during your session, and to carry that openness forward afterwards: noticing what shifts, listening to what your body and mind are telling you, and making the small changes in your daily life that support your healing long-term. A single session can offer relief and clarity, but embracing your own role in the process is what allows the benefits to truly take root.

Some concerns sit close to the surface and may ease within a session or two, while others are more deeply layered and may take a little longer to unfold and resolve. A course of sessions is often more appropriate for these deeper layers, allowing the work to progress gently and thoroughly over time, rather than expecting full resolution from a single visit.

Client responsibility

By booking and attending a session, you acknowledge that you remain responsible for your own physical and emotional wellbeing during and after the session.

Health conditions requiring additional care

Some practices — particularly sound-based sessions — may require additional care for individuals with certain conditions. These include (but are not limited to): epilepsy, severe tinnitus, vertigo or Ménière’s disease, recent head injury, pacemakers or internal defibrillators, recent surgery, bone fractures, advanced stages of cancer, certain metal implants, or early pregnancy (first trimester).

Clients are asked to share any relevant health information so we can discuss whether a session is suitable for your needs and, where appropriate, adapt it safely and effectively.

With heartfelt thanks for honouring these boundaries — they help protect the healing space and allow me to continue offering deeply attuned care to all who come through my door 💗
